Soya Chaap Curry Recipe

Ingredients

  1. Soya chaap: 250 grams (or 5-6 pieces)
  2. Oil: 3 tablespoons
  3. Onion: 1 large, finely chopped
  4. Tomatoes: 2 large, pureed
  5. Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tablespoon
  6. Green chilies: 2, slit
  7. Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  9. Cashew & Poppy Seeds: 1/2 cup & 1 tbsp (Soaked and grinder)
  10. Coriander powder: 1 teaspoon
  11. Garam masala: 1/2 teaspoon
  12. Cumin powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Salt: to taste
  14. Fresh coriander: for garnishing
  15. Water: 1-1.5 cups

Instructions

  1. Preparation:
  2. Soak the soya chaap in hot water for about 30 minutes, then drain and cut into pieces.
  3. Cooking:
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook for a couple of minutes.
  6. Stir in the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  7. Spices:
  8. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  9. Add Soya Chaap:
  10. Add the soaked soya chaap pieces to the masala. Mix well to coat.
  11. Pour in water to get the desired consistency, cashew & poppy seed paste. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  12. Final Touch:
  13. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
